The 31-year-old has scores of 68, 131* and 49 in the first three games. He missed his half-century by a run in the ongoing game against India in Ahmedabad.
If he had reached to a half-century, the wicketkeeper-batter would have equalled the 48-year-old record in his first World Cup
Former captain Majid Khan holds the record of scoring three consecutive 50+ scores on the World Cup Debut. He did this in 1975.
Rizwan could have been the second to achieve this feat.
Meanwhile, India bowled out Pakistan for just 191 in their high-profile Cricket World Cup clash on Saturday after their bitter rivals lost their last eight wickets for just 36 runs.
In front of around 120,000 fans, almost all Indians after Pakistanis were not handed visas to attend. The home side are well placed to claim an eighth win in eight World Cup meetings with their rivals.
Captain Babar Azam top scored with 50 while Imam scored 36.
